I’m re-releasing my CD from a few months ago, The Many Shades of Night, for a few reasons. First of all, I never officially released it here on this site. Secondly, I’m setting up podcasting and wanted to try it out!

The Many Shades of Night is an example of the variety of electronic music and how we can be in love with it all.  It doesn’t have to always be house… or trance… or whatever.

So a friend of mine wanted to introduce me to a DJ at a lounge in NYC, Babel, and was like… “Do you have a demo you can give him?”

“Sure”, says I.

“Not trance and stuff, though… hip hop, raggae, raggaeton…. that sort of stuff.”

“Yeah… no problem.”  Blatent lie.  If you know me as a DJ, I’m all about electronica in it’s various forms.  I may stick to certain styles, but it’s all about electronica.

So here I am, not knowing much about this style besides they’re great to dance to with a girl that can dance.  So I start looking for tracks, building from artists that I know… playlist it, mix it, check it…. got it on the first take.  Thus the name, Take One.  I have a lot to learn about DJing this kind of music, but I’m happy with this demo.  Hopefully the DJ at Babel is too.  :D
