So, I’m not typically for celebrating weird little events and stuff (note that it’s the end of February and I just realized what I’m about to say), but I thought I’d just say I completed last year’s goal

I started out January ’08 with a mission to mix at least one CD a month.  That started out as my If at First series.  Those CDs are purposely themed.  A CD should have definite flow and purpose.  I got 6 of them done.  I was working on the 7th when I had the idea of broadcasting live.  I was first thinking of just an audio broadcast, but being a geek, I craved something more.  So that’s when the search for a video application began, ending with Ustream (who has, apparrently upgraded their servers/network ) which provides chat, too.  PERFECT!

So in July, I started Memory Lapse.  Twice a month I’d spin live for 2 hours.  Definitely more content than a 70 minute CD once a month.  Once in a while, I would do bonus shows, live-remote house parties, or just turn the camera on and practice with a few friends listening and chatting.  The show quickly went from twice a month to weekly!  Some shows have been good, some have been amazing.  There’s a lot to get used to when you have to play for 2 hours every week.  If I was getting paid for it, I’d buy more music a lot more easily, but as it is, I have to be careful with my music selection.  That, hopefully, is in the process of changing

So regardless, I have way more than the 12, 70 minute recordings that I was initially going for.  And I’d like to thank a few people:

• monk doc, the moj, and the civ for just being you and letting me be me
• the901 for harassing me until I started DJing again
• eldanen for all the support and, i’m pretty sure, not missing a show yet
• werd for letting me drag my equipment to his place and do parties there
• hiroshi for the name Memory Lapse
• teki for being my arch-nemesis… but still cool!
• and everyone else that comes by, shows support, downloads, clicks on ads, whatever

So i was relaxing and turned the webcam on to chill with a few friends as I spun, and about 2 hours later I decided to spin for the rest of the evening. I only grabbed about 2 out of the 4 hours on film, as it were, but here it is for you to enjoy.

Well… I’ll have to admit, the last few MLs have been a little weak.  And for that, i appologize.  There’s been a lot going on in my personal life, and it’s just bled over into other areas.  BUT… even though I felt ill-prepared for this week’s show, especially the first electro part, is one of my favorite sets so far.  I’m thinking of re-recording it and making it DLable for everyone.  Leave comments and let me know what you think!

Sorry for posting this so late.  Ustream seems to be trying to deal with an influx of users and traffic, so AGAIN, the stream broke during the show.  I was able to retrieve both parts, though, so hopefully you can still enjoy the replay!

I’m loving this track!!  Deadmau5 wrote it a few weeks ago while he was on tour in London.  It is currently not released, but the moment it is… it will be in my record collection!
