Michael Jackson

MJcoverBy now, the world knows that Michael Jackson passed away on 06.25.09.  The reports are all over the place, and you can find them very easily.  I’m not going to talk about how he died.  I wanted to pay tribute to him.  By no way what-so-ever fitting into the status quo, Michael Jackson influenced the lives of MILLIONS of people.  Diddy, aka, Puff Daddy, said earlier of Michael, “Michael Jackson showed me that you can actually see the beat.”  See it… feel it… love it.  I got into DJing because of my love of clubbing.  And my love of clubbing came from my love of dancing.  And as a child born in 1980, take a guess who I tried to dance, and dress, and be like when I was a kid… exactly.

I couldn’t sleep last night (and as much as Michael’s passing means to me, it’s not why I couldn’t sleep… I just couldn’t sleep), and as I lay in bed the idea of a doing a tribute mix popped into my head… so I got up and got to work.

Now please understand, I don’t mix this type of music, aka open format.  I spin house and trance and a bunch of other styles like those.  This was something I did out of love for the music that Michael Jackson gave to us.  His music has meaning, and I very much believe in the power of music.  (Don’t mind me if I’m rambling, it’s almost 6am).  Anyway, here it is…. I’ll fix the post up later (when I wake up) with a proper track list.
