The Power of Music
🙂
Great, great show by Fatboy Slim! It’s been a while since I went to a proper show… maybe not since Ultra back in March. I need to get back into the City more often!!
I was testing out my phone which has video capabilities now, but unfortunately, the mic is absolutely no good in a party environment, so I won’t even bother posting those videos. Â I did, howerever, have my camera (although I forgot to empty out the memory card on it) so I grabbed a couple of videos!

Right Here, Right Now
I’m not sure what’s going on (well, ok… i think I have an idea), but the podcast page in iTunes is only showing one downloadable item. Â This morning it was, correctly, showing two. Â I’m hoping that when Apple refreshes the feeds tomorrow, it will clear this problem up…. otherwise, I may have to re-submit my podcast link to their system! >_<
In the meantime, I hope you are enjoying the music which is still available right here on the site!  😀
Nevermind :D…. hit that podcast!! 😀
Actually, this 101!!! 😀
In actual news, I’ll be posting my first podcast sometime Sunday night. It’s a CD I recorded a few months ago, but never actually put up on this site. So I’ll be testing the podcasting system with that, and if all goes well, I’ll have another BRAND NEW recording for Tuesday! Stay tuned…
Well… it certainly took me long enough, but I’ve very glad (and proud) to present the newest itteration of my website!!  😀
The look has been completely revamped. Â I built my own custom WordPress theme rather than edit an existing one. Â It was a lot of fun, and frustrating at times, but I’m happy with how it came out. Â I’ve added a bunch of stuff on the backend to help me with administration and organization, as well as promoting by integrating with Twitter and adding support for podcasting (the first of which will be very soon).
The video player and chat are new from Livestream. Â Memory Lapse shows will be available 24/7 there, and are also on-demand, so you can go find your favorite one anytime you’d like. Â Also, Memory Lapses will soon be recorded in HD and available for direct download (or podcast). Â So stay tuned for that.
I’ve also organized a few “feeds”, as it were. Â Everything will be available on the Home screen, but if you just want to see what I’m saying about Music or Technology & Gaming, I’ve set up sections specifically to filter those topics.
I’ll continue to add features, as time allows, but this is the foundation for now! Â Thanks to everyone for being so patient with me while I finished the site, and I hope you like it as much as I do!

So, I’m not typically for celebrating weird little events and stuff (note that it’s the end of February and I just realized what I’m about to say), but I thought I’d just say I completed last year’s goal 😀
I started out January ’08 with a mission to mix at least one CD a month.  That started out as my If at First series.  Those CDs are purposely themed.  A CD should have definite flow and purpose.  I got 6 of them done.  I was working on the 7th when I had the idea of broadcasting live.  I was first thinking of just an audio broadcast, but being a geek, I craved something more.  So that’s when the search for a video application began, ending with Ustream (who has, apparrently upgraded their servers/network 😀 ) which provides chat, too.  PERFECT!
So in July, I started Memory Lapse.  Twice a month I’d spin live for 2 hours.  Definitely more content than a 70 minute CD once a month.  Once in a while, I would do bonus shows, live-remote house parties, or just turn the camera on and practice with a few friends listening and chatting.  The show quickly went from twice a month to weekly!  Some shows have been good, some have been amazing.  There’s a lot to get used to when you have to play for 2 hours every week.  If I was getting paid for it, I’d buy more music a lot more easily, but as it is, I have to be careful with my music selection.  That, hopefully, is in the process of changing 😉
So regardless, I have way more than the 12, 70 minute recordings that I was initially going for. Â And I’d like to thank a few people:
Make sure to keep supporting and tell your friends about the show, and if you’re on Facebook, join the Memory Lapse group (http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=64623366613)
So YEY!!!
show after the break
I know… the world economy is something that seems very out of place on my site, but, i do have a great variety of interests. Â A friend of mine recently introduced me to The Long Johns, a british comedic duo with a great taste, and style, for sarcasm. Â I very much recommend them to anyone that enjoys things like the Daily Show or The Cobert Report
Merry Christmas, everyone!!
There will be no show tonight, but make sure to stop by over the weekend for a  new DL 😀 !!!
I hope you all have a great, safe, and fun holiday!
God bless!
