Last week’s show had a technical problem about 20 minutes in, so at about 10:20 I shut down the broadcast and started it again.  I picked up with the song that I had left off, which is a bit of a shame, because I had build up this very cool latin house groove… oh well.  Here is the remaining hour and a half for your downloading pleasure, though.  It’s a bit… jumpy?  I downloaded a lot of music and it didn’t necessarily all go together, but I wanted to play them cause they were good tracks  😀

A few nights ago I turned the camera on and just hung out with a few friends, spinning for about an hour and a half to get rid of some insomnia  😀  I didn’t record it for download, but if you go to the video player and hit On Demand -> Bonus Shows -> Goofing off 08.08.09 you’ll be able to stream it from this site  😀  Mostly a bunch of older stuff, house and trance, no electro.

So last week’s show had an error in the recording, and as such, I won’t be posting it for DL.  I will, however, be working on another If At First CD, soon, so we have that to look forward to 😀

Typically, I release Memory Lapse regardless of mistakes I may have made because it’s a record of my progress, but the recording itself is glitched  🙁  You can listen/view it in the video player, though!

By now, the world knows that Michael Jackson passed away on 06.25.09.  The reports are all over the place, and you can find them very easily.  I’m not going to talk about how he died.  I wanted to pay tribute to him.  By no way what-so-ever fitting into the status quo, Michael Jackson influenced the lives of MILLIONS of people.  Diddy, aka, Puff Daddy, said earlier of Michael, “Michael Jackson showed me that you can actually see the beat.”  See it… feel it… love it.  I got into DJing because of my love of clubbing.  And my love of clubbing came from my love of dancing.  And as a child born in 1980, take a guess who I tried to dance, and dress, and be like when I was a kid… exactly.

I couldn’t sleep last night (and as much as Michael’s passing means to me, it’s not why I couldn’t sleep… I just couldn’t sleep), and as I lay in bed the idea of a doing a tribute mix popped into my head… so I got up and got to work.

Now please understand, I don’t mix this type of music, aka open format.  I spin house and trance and a bunch of other styles like those.  This was something I did out of love for the music that Michael Jackson gave to us.  His music has meaning, and I very much believe in the power of music.  (Don’t mind me if I’m rambling, it’s almost 6am).  Anyway, here it is…. I’ll fix the post up later (when I wake up) with a proper track list.

Great, great show by Fatboy Slim! It’s been a while since I went to a proper show… maybe not since Ultra back in March. I need to get back into the City more often!!

I was testing out my phone which has video capabilities now, but unfortunately, the mic is absolutely no good in a party environment, so I won’t even bother posting those videos.  I did, howerever, have my camera (although I forgot to empty out the memory card on it) so I grabbed a couple of videos!
