I know… I know… I’m posting this and it’s June; but I did finish recording this last night before midnight!! So woot!!

So this months mix comes from a sound check I was doing for my upcoming Memory Lapse show. I played an old trance song, just goofing around, and a few of my friends flipped out, so I decided to do an old school set. Now you maybe thinking when you hear some of these tracks that it’s not old school, but think about when these songs came out. Some of them are about 10 years old!!

I know… It bugged me out too when i thought about it 😀

I’m reviewing it right now, but I think it came out well.  I’ll put the download package together tonight and post it ASAP.

Trance was my first love, in terms of music, and shows like last night’s remind me why. Tiesto spun at Webster Hall for three nights in a row, and rocked it out the whole way through. He spun, as usual for him, a “traditional” set, eschewing a laptop and working from CDJs. Flawlessly mixed all night, with only one hiccup that I ca remember (probably just a scratch on the cd).

If you’ve never seen him live, I highly recommend it. He’ll pack the room tightly, but it’s usually a good crowd (as was last nights) that is knowledgeable about the music, or at least his music, and that just adds to the energy of the night!

I’m working on this month’s mix, and that in of itself has kept me pretty occupied, but I’ve also been messing around with Ustream.tv
It’s a great website that lets me broadcast and record a live web show!
So guess what…. that’s exactly what I’m doing!!!

Starting July 2nd @ 10pm EST, I’ll be doing an hour long show every 1st and 3rd Wednesday night. Trance, house, disco, funk, electro… whatever works!

Sorry for the slow updates, recently… working on this month’s playlist  😀

Here’s a little something a friend forwarded to me.  The Rolly came out last year, and I had been keeping up with it prior to launch, but when the price was announced, I quickly lost interest.  It’s almost pointless, but it’s a cool display of new tech.  At the very least, it’s a cool conversation piece.

You remember the C64?  Of course you do.

Either you had one, or someone you knew had one.  I definitely had one.  My dad loves to remind me how he knew I was going to have my love/hate/obsessive relationship with technology. When I was 6, my mother took my siblings and I to Colombia for the summer to visit our family.  When we got back, apparently, the first thing I asked my dad was, “Did you get it?”  “It” being a C64.  Man… I was a geek from the start 🙂

Well, check it… good hardware is hard to kill.  And although it’s not really a C64 anymore, that was what it started life as.

Modders are taking the C64 and turning them into MIDI synth boxes.  (video after the jump)
